It is 31st October again and you really need to look your best. Don’t you dare worry, I got you covered. Halloween as we all know is a celebration that honors the dead. Yes you all heard me right, honoring the dead. This does not necessarily mean that you have to be dressed to scare. Not at all, the celebrations can be full of pleasant activities that do not mean scaring off people like trick or treating that is simply candy collection from door to door. Halloween wear is important for both children and adults since it is one of the “reasons for the season”.
Halloween encourages madness in the choice of dressing, the most acceptable kind of madness. I think we all agree that Halloween is the most appropriate time to go crazy about what you are wearing. The costume has to be scary, sexy, and cute yet very elaborate. You definitely don’t want people guessing what you are supposed to be.
The most important things that will make any Halloween costume stand out are; the clothes, the make-up, the accessories and last but not the least the attitude of the wearer. Let’s start with the costume. You have to choose the costume wisely. Things like color, material and even design matter. The costume has to be very comfortable especially for you. It has to be your very own choice. Do not overdo the color since you could attract all the wrong attention.
The make-up: here is the tricky part. How do you do the trickiest yet scariest make up? You cannot overdo it and yet you should never under do it. It has to be just right. If you can get a professional to do it and if you cannot be very careful with it, it all good, bold make up can brighten up a dull outfit while bland make up can tone down a little color from an over done outfit. Make up is thus essential and gives the correct or wrong impression of what you are.
The accessories: This includes the shoes, jewelry and the associate items for the costume such as a butcher’s knife for a butcher’s costume. These items all make emphasis on the costume and either bring it down or make it stand out. The accessories should be able to blend in with the rest of the costume. This is especially true for the associate items. Grim reapers have axes and skull designed masks, not hoodies and knives. Finally, your attitude, be your costume; wear it with the boldness it deserves. It is your choice after all.
