So, you googled the question above and stumbled upon this page… Don’t worry, you’re not the only one. I typed the exact same words into the search bar only a week ago. It seems that I’ve been living under a rock all this time. Apparently, you have been as well.
Commonly known as an Electronic Daisy Carnival (EDC), a rave is a gathering of people centered on music and dancing. In other words, it’s a big party! And it’s been around since the late 80’s. It used to be underground and done at abandoned warehouses. Now it’s grown so big that it’s done in wide open spaces and welcomes anyone who enjoys common interests.
What makes a rave so cool is the set of live DJs playing awesome electronic dance music. Such music includes techno, trance, breakbeat, jungle, ambient, and so much more that you’re bound to find yourself dancing to the genre you love. Not to mention that a rave can last up to more than a couple days! I mean, who wouldn't be down for that?
The beauty of a rave lies in the ideal it advocates. This ideal is called PLURwhich stands for Peace, Love, Unity, and Respect – values that ravers must uphold. It’s the solid community spirit ravers in the late 80s promoted and is still being encouraged to this day. A rave is not just about partying – it’s about coming together and enjoying the good things in life. It’s about having a great time and being high-minded about it.
It seems kind of stupid that I only recently found out about raves and the EDM lifestyle (and you, only learning about it now). I never knew there was such a world. Maybe you and I should get out more often?
